NAPERVILLE, Ill., Aug. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The fourth-annual ENFOS Experience - focusing on "The Art of Operational Excellence" - will be held September 19-20 at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco.

While previous conferences focused on strategic management, this year's event will take a practical, hands-on approach to giving companies the enterprise software tools they need to establish operational excellence. Environmental professionals in attendance will have the unique opportunity to hear first-hand from current ENFOS customers, including BP, ConocoPhillips, Total, Sunoco and Valero, about how they are using ENFOS to facilitate the financial and operational aspects of managing remediation projects.

There will be three training tracks:

  • General project management
  • Data management
  • Financial management

"In order for you to take advantage of the strategic elements of remediation, you have to be able to execute that strategy, and that's what operational excellence is about - being purposeful in everything you do," ENFOS CEO Craig Modesitt said.

In addition to training sessions, presentations and process-specific solution roundtables, this year's conference will feature two distinguished keynote speakers.

On Thursday, attendees will hear from Normand Pellerin, Assistant Vice President for Environment & Sustainability at Canadian National Railway Company, about how his company is practicing the art of operational excellence.

On Friday, the second keynote address will be delivered by Larry Schnapf, who is the co-chair of the New York State Bar Association's Hazardous Site Remediation Committee and Brownfield Task Force, as well as a board member of the NYC Brownfield Partnership. With more than 25 years of experience handling environmental transactions and his geology training, Mr. Schnapf is uniquely suited to speak on his topic: "How Big Data is Changing Environmental Due Diligence."

Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about the ENFOS 3 beta testing program and other upcoming solutions.

The launch of ENFOS' new website, which will feature a map displaying worldwide environmental liabilities, will coincide with the conference. ENFOS will also reveal the initial findings of its "Global Environmental Liabilities Research Project," a comprehensive, first-of-its-kind effort to catalogue the liabilities of global industrial companies.

According to Modesitt, the goal of the project is to start a global dialogue about environmental liabilities.

"This defines the problem that we help to manage," he said.

A one-of-a-kind conference experience

The ENFOS Experience has always facilitated knowledge sharing, but it's also included fun outings and networking opportunities. Last year, attendees were taken on a trip to a San Francisco Giants game, which included a chance to walk onto the field and meet some of the players. This year, the first 130 registrants will be invited to enjoy a cruise on the Empress Yacht in San Francisco Bay.

It is the total package that makes the ENFOS Experience unlike any other remediation conference and not only keeps past attendees coming back, but continues to draw larger crowds. Over the past three years, attendance has risen by more than 30 percent.

"The ENFOS Experience is a forum like no other in our industry," Modesitt said. "Come party with The Remediation Nation in San Francisco!"

Those who register by August 28 can receive a discounted room at either the St. Regis or W Hotels when they mention that they are attending the ENFOS Experience during the booking process.

ENFOS was founded in 2000 with the goal of providing companies with a single end-to-end platform for managing the cleanup of contaminated real estate. Since then, ENFOS has worked to improve the effectiveness of remediation organizations by automating routine administrative tasks, providing role based workflow, and interfacing with other back-office applications such as corporate ERP systems and real estate databases, bringing them closer to peak environmental liability performance.

Many of the biggest companies in the world trust ENFOS to help them manage these critical aspects of their business - from parts per billion to the bottom line.
